Just having come back from a month of 40 degree weather in Australia and New Zealand, I've had a rough time reacclimating to California summer weather. Traveling from one hemisphere to another is tough enough, but when you go from one season to another within 13 hours, it's murder. It's been 90 degrees in Sonoma Valley these last few days, so I figured it would be a good excuse to find some peace on the coast. So, my cousin, Rachel, and I headed to Doran Beach in Bodega Bay on the Sonoma coast with Riley, her crazy Jack Russell. What a perfect day. There's nothing like listening to the sound of the waves crashing gently on the soft, warm sand with a fog horn moaning loudly in the distance. While Riley ran around and chased the ball into the water, I took a nap and caught up on my reading and . . . tanning, which quickly turned in to burning.
